First Project Lessons

FIRST has thus far supported policy makers and regulatory bodies in more than 70 low- and middle-income countries, and engaged in over 300 individual country and regional technical assistance projects.

As FIRST's portfolio of completed projects grew, so did the need to learn from these projects, identify good practices that are replicable, and disseminate findings. To this end, FIRST initiated a study of its completed projects by sector, and publishes results on an ongoing basis as more sectors or areas of involvement are covered. Currently, lessons learned is disseminated for: banking systems, which also includes credit reporting, payments and antimoney laundering projects;capital markets, access to finance, pensions and collective invesment schemes; and, insurance sector. FIRST will continue to add information on projects in other sectors to this site.
